You cause a single public statement to escape your control. Its content is fixed at the moment of casting, but its effect is not: at the end of the first hour, determine at random whether the spell deals damage to your own organization — identical to an unprompted Smear Campaign cast by an unknown party — or grants your organization a Windfall of public goodwill, in proportion to nothing about the statement’s actual merit.
You cannot end this spell early. Deleting, editing, or issuing a clarification does not dispel it; any such attempt instead grants a Discovery saving throw, with advantage, to every creature who saw the original statement, and a failed save on your part extends the spell’s duration rather than ending it.
At Higher Levels. When cast using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you may name one additional creature or organization mentioned in the original statement. That target independently rolls its own random effect, unconnected to yours.
Flavor: “Can’t believe this blew up like this, just trying to start a conversation!” — reply, posted six hours after the original, to no effect
