Conjure Contractor

2nd-level Procurement & Resourcing

Casting Time: 1 action to cast, though the conjured creature does not arrive until 1d4 weeks have elapsed (a Lead Time)
Range/Area: 60 feet, or Remote
Components: V, S, M (a signed statement of work, consumed)
Duration: Concentration, up to the length of the engagement (commonly 3 to 6 months)
Classes: Engineering Manager, Procurement Officer, VP of Operations

You conjure one Contractor in an unoccupied space you can see within range, appearing once the Lead Time has elapsed. The Contractor is under your control for the duration and can perform any task within the scope defined by the statement of work. A task outside that scope requires a Scope Change, which costs additional resources and extends the Lead Time by 1d4 additional weeks.

The Contractor does not have access to your organization’s full institutional knowledge, tools, or systems unless you expend an action each week to grant it (an Onboarding action); until you do, it operates at disadvantage on all checks.

When the spell ends, the Contractor vanishes without a trace, along with any institutional knowledge it accumulated during the engagement, unless a separate Knowledge Transfer was arranged in advance.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you conjure one additional Contractor from the same statement of work for each slot level above 2nd. Onboarding actions must still be spent on each individually.
