Classical tradition: Conjuration

Classical tradition: Conjuration
Field notes on Conjuration as practiced here: summoning something from nothing — headcount, budget, contractors, vendors, office supplies. Roughly half of what we’ve catalogued is about conjuring the resource itself; the other half is about the ritual cost of getting it approved, which several of us privately suspect is the real spell.
Field tone: transactional, faintly desperate, full of forms. The caster is always negotiating with a bureaucracy as much as with reality.
Vocabulary recorded in the field: requisition, headcount approval, RFP, vendor onboarding, budget line, backfill, statement of work, purchase order, contractor conversion, three bids and a buy, capex vs. opex, lead time, sole source justification, acquihire, talent lift-out, nepotism hire, winner’s curse, related-party transaction.
