Classical tradition: Evocation

Field notes on Evocation as practiced here: raw force, applied to a budget. Finance vocabulary is already half fire-and-blast imagery — burn rate, runway, torching cash — which makes this the one discipline where a classical-tradition echo (Fireball, Scorching Ray, Meteor Swarm) requires almost no translation at all. We consider this the least metaphorical discipline in the volume, which some of us find more alarming than reassuring.

Field tone: blunt, numerical, unapologetically damaging. The caster deals damage and everyone can see the number.

Vocabulary recorded in the field: burn rate, runway, EBITDA, write-off, cost center, budget reallocation, headcount reduction, discretionary spend freeze, scorched-earth cuts, capital efficiency, margin, austerity measures, the axe, cost of delay, aggressive timeline, “we have faith in this team.”
